Changzhou planetary gear means that the rotating shaft is not fixed, it is installed on a rotatable bracket (blue) (the black part in the picture is the housing, and the yellow part indicates the bearing). Planetary gears (green) can not only rotate around their own axis of rotation (B-B) like fixed shaft gears, but their axis of rotation can also rotate around the axis of other gears (A-A) together with the blue carrier (called planet carrier).

Rotation around one's own axis is called "rotation", and rotation around other gear axes is called "rotation", just like the planets of the solar system, hence the name.

According to the number of planetary gears mounted on the planet carrier, the planetary gear mechanism is divided into a single planetary row and a double planetary row.

Compared with ordinary gear transmission, planetary gear transmission has many unique advantages. The most significant feature is that the power can be separated during transmission, and the input shaft and output shaft of the reduction gear are on the same horizontal line. Therefore, planetary gear transmission has been widely used in various mechanical transmission systems, such as speed reducer, speed increaser and transmission. Especially because of its "high load, large transmission ratio" characteristics, has been widely used in aircraft and vehicles (especially heavy vehicles). Planetary gears also play an important role in the torque transmission of the engine. Since the characteristics of the engine, such as speed and torque, are very different from road driving requirements, in order to properly distribute the power of the engine to the driving wheels, the above-mentioned characteristics of the planetary gear can be used for conversion. Automatic transmissions in automobiles also use these characteristics of planetary gears to change the relative movement of various components through clutches and brakes to obtain different transmission ratios.

However, due to the complex structure and working state of the planetary gear, the vibration and noise problems of the reduction accessory shaft are also prominent. It is prone to failure phenomena such as gear tooth fatigue pitting, tooth root cracking, and even gear tooth or shaft fracture, which affects the operating accuracy of the equipment, Transmission efficiency and service life.
